From as early as auditions, I could tell that Max was an incredibly workable actor, who prioritized collaborating with me and the material to create the ideal performance for the both of us, rather than prioritizing his own ego, which was never an issue. Max took direction very well, not only in that the performance itself would change between directions, but he would ask clarifying questions to bring himself to that place. Max also did a great job working with what could be considered a difficult role. Arthur is a character who both went through dramatically different emotions and feelings throughout the story, but was also a rather verbose character that required memorizing lines with words that are seldom used, and at times difficult to pronounce. Max did all of this without an ounce of complaint. Max was a complete pleasure to work with, and I highly recommend any one the fence directions to take the opportunity to do as I did and cast Max Alvarado.
